Welcome To Anton!

Whoever thinks of Kaatsheuvel thinks of the Efteling.
But where would the Efteling be without Anton Pieck?
A mastermind with a distinct style, the founder of Kaatsheuvel’s fame.
Messrs Carlo Bergmans and Erik de Bie, proud owners of Bij Anton, also know this all too well.
It has inspired them to what Bij Anton is today: a contemporary, accessible and above all cozy place in the bustling village heart of Kaatsheuvel.
This is how they started four years ago in this new village heart of Kaatsheuvel.
Following the town hall, they settled on Anton Pieckplein.
A tribute to Anton Pieck.
For example, the logo is inspired by Anton Pieck’s signature, with which he signed his works.
The colors are also derived from his style.
But also a warm, cozy and homely feeling as they are used to in Kaatsheuvel were immediately important.
At Anton’s is a place where Brabant coziness prevails, there is laughter and you have the feeling of being at home.
Besides Anton Pieck, Kaatsheuvel also has another history.
This can be seen on the black and white photo wall inside Bij Anton, where stories are regularly told by the older generation of the village.
The pride radiates from their faces, the connection with the village is something that is in the first place for them but also for Carlo and Erik.
On the wall you can see, for example, the carousel, which was the first to stand on the R.K. Sport and Walking Park.
The place that would later become the Efteling and would have many attractions.
But it also shows the different professions that were practiced in Kaatsheuvel: scissor grinders, mat braiders and the shoe industry that was all over the Langstraat.
An important place for workers, the Harmonie was also very popular in Kaatsheuvel.
They are proud of the rich history of orchestras and wind players, but also of the place where Bij Anton now sits: previously the music kiosk of Kaatsheuvel could be found here.
Bij Anton has always been, even in its distant history, a place where people come together and enjoy life.
Bij Anton has grown into a place where not only people from Kaatsheuvel, but also tourists feel at home.
The living room of Kaatsheuvel where everyone is welcome, where Brabant sociability is very important and which is accessible to everyone.
Not too much madness and fuss, but a place in the middle of the village where people eat, drink, laugh and live together.
